NVision's molecules can be grown as thin films and placed directly on established photonic chip materials.

ULM, GERMANY — NVision, a quantum technology company based in Ulm, Germany, has announced a significant advancement in quantum computing with the publication of peer-reviewed research in Nature. The research validates the first individually addressable organic molecular qubit with a photonic interface, enabling the connection of stationary qubits with photons. This breakthrough allows molecular qubits to be deposited as thin films on photonic integrated circuits (PICs), providing a scalable architecture compatible with standard silicon foundry manufacturing. NVision has also partnered with HyperLight Corporation to integrate these molecular qubits onto advanced photonic chips, advancing the development of quantum computing hardware.

The collaboration with HyperLight aims to leverage thin-film lithium niobate photonics to create scalable quantum hardware with high-density chip-scale quantum connectivity. NVision's approach uses photonic connectivity to overcome spatial constraints typical in monolithic quantum architectures, enabling quantum entanglement at accessible cryogenic temperatures. The company targets a demonstration of on-chip performance by the end of 2026 and plans to scale to 1,000 physical qubits by 2030. Dr. Sella Brosh, CEO of NVision, stated “This proves what we’ve long believed: that organic chemistry offers a fundamentally better building block for quantum”
