NEW YORK — Salt Entertainment has announced a new line of officially licensed Hellraiser tabletop games, including board games and roleplaying games, set to launch on Halloween 2027 to coincide with the 40th anniversary of the original 1987 Hellraiser film by Clive Barker. The initial offerings will include a dice game focused on temptation and risk, an escape-room style game inspired by the Lament Configuration, and a social deduction game exploring hidden desires and shifting loyalties. The project aims to appeal to both long-time fans and newcomers to the franchise.
Veteran designers Michael Shinall and Francesco Nepitello are creating major new Hellraiser board and roleplaying games, respectively, to explore themes of horror, dread, and the human psyche. Clive Barker expressed enthusiasm for the intimate experience of tabletop gaming and the opportunity to invite players into unexplored aspects of the Hellraiser mythology. Geoff Skinner, President of Salt Games, described the franchise as an extraordinary world with decades of mythology that lends itself well to tabletop gaming “Hellraiser has been my favorite film since I saw it at a way-too-young age, so the opportunity to work with”.
