CMMB CEO Mary Beth Powers engages with guests at the Ribbon-Cutting Ceremony for CMMB's new Distribution Center at the Brethren Service Center

NEW WINDSOR, MARYLAND — The Catholic Medical Mission Board (CMMB) inaugurated its new Distribution Center at the Brethren Service Center in New Windsor, Maryland, marked by a ribbon-cutting ceremony attended by CMMB CEO Mary Beth Powers, Church of the Brethren General Secretary David Steele, and New Windsor Mayor Kevin R. Cornick. The event included assembling hygiene kits to aid communities in need. The center aims to expand CMMB's capacity to deliver essential medicines and medical supplies globally, supported by contributions from partners such as BD, Merck & Co., and others who helped stock the facility.

CMMB expressed gratitude to its Launch Partners BD and Merck for their significant financial and in-kind support, which enhances the Medical Donations Program's global impact. Sien Avalos, Director of Social Investing and President of the BD Foundation, highlighted the center's role in strengthening infrastructure to benefit communities worldwide. In 2025, CMMB distributed $243.5 million worth of donated medical supplies to 64 partners in 28 countries. Mary Beth Powers said “It was wonderful to celebrate this milestone alongside the partners who helped make it possible”.
