Think about it. We're surrounded by things that someone had to imagine before they could become a reality. Now, let's skip the prototypes, angel investors, and all the technical details in between, and jump straight to the finished creation. Walt Disney helped create Mickey Mouse. Alexander Graham Bell developed the telephone. Behind each innovation was someone who brought an idea to life.
But according to Scripture, God is eternal. He isn't limited by the universe He created. And I believe that's an important distinction because we're trying to understand a Creator whose existence goes beyond our comprehension.
Now, Genesis describes the earth as formless and empty, covered in darkness. It is written that The Spirit of God was hovering over the waters. That tells us something. Even before the earth had solid ground, God was already there. I find that fascinating.
Sometimes life can feel uncertain, empty, or covered in darkness. But just because we can't see what's happening doesn't necessarily mean God isn't present.
Now, something extraordinary happens. God speaks. "Let there be light." And there was light. That's it. No muscle. Just a few words. God speaks, and light comes into existence. He calls the light day and the darkness night. and the first day is complete.
