Now, something I find interesting is how creation unfolds in an organized sequence. On the second day, God creates the sky, separating the waters covering the earth from the waters above.
Now, the Bible doesn't explain exactly what those waters above were, and I'm not going to pretend I know either. There's no need to fake the funk. But perhaps that's something worth thinking about. Genesis doesn't answer every question we might have, and I don't believe we should pretend otherwise. Sometimes, what Scripture leaves unexplained can encourage us to ask questions, explore our faith, and seek a deeper understanding of God.
And once again, evening and morning mark another day. On the third day, God gathers the waters together, and dry land appears. He calls the dry land “earth” and the gathered waters “seas.”
Then something magnificent happens. The land begins producing vegetation. Grass spreads across the earth, plants begin producing seeds, and trees bear fruit, each with the ability to reproduce and pass its genetic characteristics to future generations.
