You know, I've always been fascinated by something as simple as a seed. Think about an apple. Inside that apple are seeds that can grow into trees capable of producing thousands of additional apples. And those apples contain even more seeds. It's astonishing how much potential God placed inside something so small.
And I think there's a lesson for all of us. Sometimes the smallest beginnings produce the greatest results. A simple act of kindness. Earning a certificate or degree. Or one brilliant decision. Any one of these can change the course of your life, or set something in motion that could impact hundreds, thousands, millions, or even billions of people.
So, we shouldn't underestimate ourselves or what God can accomplish through ordinary people like you and me. Because the truth is, every one of us is important to God.
Now, as we continue through Genesis, let's return to the days of creation. On the fourth day, God creates the sun, the moon, and the stars. The greater light governs the day, and the lesser light governs the night.
And these lights serve another purpose. They help us know when it's time to go to work and, more importantly, when it's time to go home. But in all seriousness, they mark days, seasons, and years. Think about that. Even the way we measure time and keep track of the changing seasons is connected to what Genesis describes.
