COLUMBIA, Md. — MedSTAR Transport, a division of MedStar Health, has introduced a new Airbus H145 D3 helicopter to improve emergency medical transportation throughout Maryland, Washington, D.C., and the Mid-Atlantic region.
The advanced aircraft features a larger medical cabin, space for two stretchers, an additional 1,000 pounds of payload capacity, increased fuel capacity, and a five-blade rotor system for smoother flights. These improvements support specialized medical care, including neonatal intensive care, heart-lung support, and transportation of critically ill patients requiring extensive equipment.
Founded in 1983, MedSTAR Transport serves approximately 5,000 patients annually and continues to expand its emergency response capabilities with one of the few helicopters of its type operating in the nation’s air medical industry.
